I've given this book to friends that will be soon-to-be parents, and they all are in awe once they open the book. It stretches the normal adult vocabulary for synonims, but there are enough common childhood items for the youngsters to appreciate. What makes this author so unique is his amazing eye for detail. Animalia is not just an alphabet book, but it's entertainment and learning for children of all ages.

This book will become your child's favorite book and your favorite gift to give a child. All ages will love it.

And the puzzle of finding the little boy on each page is tons of fun.It makes a great gift for new readers and older kids too. My kids loved this book when they were little, 15 years ago. Since we knew that everything on the page had to start with the corresponding letter, we'd spend hours trying to figure out the names of things - "What is the name of the monkey on the "G" page." "What is it about that house that makes it a "C" word." The pictures are a delight.
